Sponges made from natural materials like coconut fibre or loofahs (a type of dried-out plant) are plastic free, which means they won't stick around for anywhere near as long as the plastic options. Many natural sponges can also be put in kerbside food waste bins to be industrially composted, or even composted at home, preventing them from going to landfill.
