About this accreditation

This accreditation means a brand has gone above and beyond to remove more carbon from the atmosphere than it has produced. They may do this by reducing or offsetting their estimated greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e), using natural carbon sinks or carbon credits.

This includes all three emissions ‘scopes’. Examples of Scope 1 being fuel burned for company vehicles, Scope 2 being energy it purchases, and Scope 3 including indirect emissions like the impact of a product the company makes after it’s been bought by a customer.
