About this accreditation
This accreditation means a brand has reduced or offset as much carbon as it has produced. This means it has offset the sum of its estimated greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e), using natural carbon sinks or carbon credits.
This includes all three emissions ‘scopes’: Scope 1 being fuel burned for company vehicles, Scope 2 being energy it purchases, and Scope 3 including indirect emissions like the impact of a product after it’s been bought by a customer. Many definitions of Carbon Neutral don’t include Scope 3 but we do.
