Reduced Plastic
About this accreditation
This accreditation recognises products that are making large reductions in the amount of plastic used compared to the mainstream alternatives, or products which are made with bioplastics rather than traditional plastics.
Bioplastics are made from plant and vegetable matter, instead of chemicals derived from fossil fuels. We recognise this as a step in the right direction which reduces demand for the oil and gas industries. Bioplastics are still a type of plastic technically speaking, so you won’t see the plastic-free accreditation on those products.
